The “Love Wins!”- Angie’s journey in turning grief and loss of sense of self into wholesome self.

 

 

 

Life is happening for you and not to you.

This can’t be more true for Angie Garcia Forner’s “Love Wins!” story, my newest podcast episode.

 

This episode is Angie’s homecoming story to her wholesome self, after living her life in many physical locations and organizational and social cultures in many places in Europe and Africa over decades.

 

Angie has lived, worked, and integrated herself (and supported her family in doing the same) in many spaces and places that offer her contrasting experiences.

 

The life journey that she chooses brings about accumulated grief due to a sense of loss of self, relationships and dreams due to the experiences, as well as powerful and profound growth that essentially brings her home to her wholesome self.

 

Relocation is never just physical relocation.

This is what I personally experience, and Angie shares the same.

Physical relocation (be it a place of living or a place to work) is the tip of the deeper consciousness transformation. When we realize this, we can get much more out of it.

Success vs Fulfilment – how it is different.

 

 

All individuals I support to date are successful in their own rights, yet many of them need support to feel fulfilled.

 

Many word combinations are used to describe this desire; among others are content, satisfied, enough, happy, complete, full, whole, excited, alive, passionate, liberated, uplifted, worthy, and gratifying.

 

I fully empathise with them and respect them for being honest and proactive about this.

I was oblivious to the difference until I experienced burnout in 2008. Through the rising journey from it, I learnt that the two are fundamentally different.

 

Feeling fulfilled is different than being successful.

Success happens when what you achieve aligns with your goals.

Fulfilment comes from how aligned your identity is with your soul (authentic self).

 

Success can happen even when your identity is in dissonance with your soul (authentic self).

In contrast, it is impossible to stay fulfilled when you are in dissonance with your soul. The good news is when you are fulfilled, you are also successful.

Take this ☝️in, please.

 

This happens because when your identity is aligned with your soul, your desires and goals also become aligned. Your life becomes aligned, grounded, centred, whole, enough and secure.

This is when your goals are aligned with your destiny – the ultimate soul experiences and destination. It brings out a sense of completeness, ease, purposefulness, and liberation, regardless of how unpredictable and challenging life can be.

 

No, your identity is not automatically fully aligned with your soul.

Aligning the two requires your consistent and continuous choice, inner work and commitment.

Your identity is “artificial” because it is formed by labels, judgments and beliefs of others and systems who raise and influence you as you grow up.

Your identity may also be formed in reaction to a wound or unhealed trauma (an event that made you believe that you were not enough, weak, powerless, etc.).

Your soul is the core energy /essence of your existence, and it holds the qualities that are uniquely yours. It is the true you. This is what emanates to the world through your body and life.

Being successful and fulfilled are two fundamentally different journeys.

Make your choice.

Easy does it!

 

 

As I thought about how I’d roll differently in 2025, “Easy does it” resonated so loudly in my mind that it became one of my mantras for the year!

 

“Easy does it” means I will consciously choose the most enjoyable ways (instead of the most intense, fast, challenging, etc) to experience what I wish.

 

I want to experience life and grow differently this year. Joy and pleasure are the top two experiences I prioritize.

 

This is a big deal for me, bigger than I can imagine. Yet, I am committed to it and keen to see what unfolds consequently.

 

I wrote down a few things I’d like to do accordingly and made my way through the list.

One of them is to have guest writers in my newsletter.

 

I am fortunate to have wonderful, curious, and deep-thinking minds around me. These are individuals with whom I can spend hours deeply conversing to expand and deepen my consciousness. Julie Grauel is one of these wonderful people.

 

I’d like her to share her perspective and reflection with you, and I’m happy that she accepted my invitation. Thank you, Julie 🙏💖

Hi everyone,

 

This is my first time contributing to Astuti’s newsletter. I’m honoured to have the privilege and would like to thank Astuti for the opportunity to do so.

I saw a fantastic clip today on Instagram (click here to watch the clip).

 

It was of a family selling food from their food stand somewhere in Indonesia, and they were doing brisk business.

 

The catch is – it was in the middle of a flood.

The clip shows people walking calmly along in waist high water up to this food stand. The water seemed quite calm, it didn’t appear to be rising or look life threatening. People were composed and smiling and chatting as they bought their food. It looked like a normal day out.

 

I love this video because it shows the attitude that one can take in times of adversity.

 

I think many people, myself included, would be upset about the damage to our goods and property. It is devastating if you lose your home or things precious to you.

 

Yet, you see people smiling despite the circumstances surrounding them and grateful they can buy food.

There is this calm acceptance of the situation that they are in and focusing on the present.

 

The other thing I loved is how the family focused on what was within their control. This video is an inspiring example of how to accept that the only thing we can control is how we choose to respond.

 

These people couldn’t control when the flood water goes down, but they could still cook and continue their business, so they did that rather than what most of us would do which is worry or get angry about things we can’t do anything about.

 

When faced with a challenging situation what do you focus on?

 

Do you put your attention on what you can do or do you get caught up in your emotions or fears?

The “Love Wins!”- Yoga’s journey to embody authenticity and heal a rare illness Cushing’s Disease

 

 

 

Illness is one of the most challenging growth opportunities.

 

We don’t always see illness as an opportunity to grow.

Many see illness as a manifestation of punishment or mistakes.

Indeed, this brings up the deep pain of the “There is something gravely wrong with me” belief.

Illness is one of the most impactful triggers for the soul’s growth.

 

I grew up witnessing my mother dealing with chronic illness and how this impacted her and the rest of our family. I don’t have many memories of my mother being healthy. Our lives were wrapped around her illness. This impactful experience shaped me and taught me what it truly means to heal, be whole, love, and be free regardless of the perceived limitations of our physical reality.

Being one of my mother’s children set me up well to be a support for others who wanted my support for their physical problems. Throughout the period when I supported Yoga, I often thought of my mother and how much our shared life was an intense teaching period for me, one that no school can ever do for me. May you rest in health, well-being, love and peace, Mama 🙏

This is why I particularly love bringing this “Love Wins” story.

Adiyoga (Yoga) came to me for support immediately after he had brain surgery in 2021, which was done in an attempt to heal from Cushing’s Disease. This rare disease occurs when a pituitary tumour causes the body to make too much cortisol. In Yoga’s case, his body produced cortisol 14 times over the normal level. This has severe consequences for his health and well-being. He received this diagnosis in December 2020.

 

Yoga’s “Love Wins” story shares his journey from intense desperation, anger and fear into embodying his authentic self. It is his story of reclaiming his holistic health and well-being. It is a story of how love wins and continues to win in his life.

 

As a facilitator for Yoga’s healing and transformation journey, I learnt so much about deep love, the higher love we humans are made of and the need to come home to our soul to reclaim our holistic well-being.

 

I feel honoured to be a part of Yoga’s journey and to have him come on the channel to speak about his healing journey, what he learnt throughout, including the deeper root causes of the disease, and how this has changed him and his life.

 

May his story touch your soul and inspire you to come back to your soul, too.

I choose to trust the Universe

 

 

In the quietness of last evening, my heart whispers, “Let go… let go of what you still hold on to right now. Let go of the belief that you can only believe when you see what you want to exist in your life. It is the other way around”.

 

This is big!!

 

I recognize this belief as I sometimes say, “I believe it when I see it”.

I can see how this does not serve my life anymore as I have chosen to live in flow with Source and the Universe, being one with it.

 

We must understand how the Universe works when we choose to do this.

One key lesson I learnt is that anything I desire or feel inspired to have or experience consciously already exists in my higher timeline.

Manifestation starts at the energetic level before it becomes tangible.

The truth in this process is that my “Higher Self” has “it” that my conscious self can sense it and hence decide to have or experience “it” by saying with conviction, “This is what I desire”. This decision allows “it” to move towards me and enter my reality.

 

To keep the belief of “I believe it when I see it” is like living with an unconscious cancelling or self-sabotaging program against the Universe’s flow towards us.

It’s like having a forwarding address for our mail so that none of our mail, packages and orders reach us.

 

“I believe it when I see it” is a belief that is fear-based, and keeping it feeds the doubt and fear that keep us separated from the Universe.

 

For me personally, the replacement of this belief is “I trust I am the embodied Source energy. What I desire already exists and is coming to me in a tangible form.”

Changes are inevitable. This will support you!

 

 

Changes are inevitable.

Whether they are voluntary or not, going through them may feel many things but easy, safe or empowering.

 

If you feel like 2025 is THE year for you, deep down, you know that changes are on the horizon. The more you surrender to this, the process can get “easier”.

 

The UPLIFT program may offer excellent support when you embrace the changes but feel less than confident about the journey. What is your 2024 key highlight?

 

The embodiment of “I love you and leave you be” is mine.

Yes, this sentence sounds paradoxical. However, its real meaning is loving fully and remaining unattached to the people, things, and ideas I love.

 

This sentence may sound like an on-passing sentence, but trust me, it has taken me fifty years to embody it. This is also why I decided to share my reflection with you now. Turning 50 was a big deal for me. It is a milestone, a huge one, in my life.

 

When one expresses this sentence from a place of fear, this comes out as an act of abandoning.

When one expresses it from a place of love, it is a statement of loving in freedom.

I am grateful that I am expressing “I love you and leave you be” from and with love now.

 

Claiming my sovereignty has been a central theme of my life thus far.

It’s been a consistent, continuous, and pervasive journey, one that I can feel in my bones.

 

The process has been anything but a straight line. Many periods are filled with dark nights of the soul, while others are filled with so much light. I have definitely experienced many breakthroughs. Love essentially wins in my life.

My process is also uniquely mine – timing, speed, and how things unfold.

 

I’ve been a part of many people’s journeys on the same theme, and every path has a different story on how it unfolds.

I see a similar transformation process, yet how it unfolds is so individual.

 

One of the biggest reasons that hold many people (including myself in the past) from fully transforming (i.e. becoming their wholesome selves, creating a life that inspires and feels true to who they are, activating their potential, being with the people that they deeply connect with and living guided by their souls) is the fear of feeling and being disconnected from the people, places, possessions, roles, responsibilities, or anything else they (believe they) love or responsible for.

 

The fear of losing love and belonging is real. Growing always brings along its companion—grief.

 

I understand that, and I’d say that many of us do not even realise we have all of these blocking us until we have a very “on our faces” trigger or are willing to have honest self-conversations about it.

 

We want our loved ones to grow when we grow, change when we do, and transform when it happens to us. Beyond that, we often want others to grow the way we do. Anything other than that is or feels wrong.

We prefer to grow when we have companions with whom to do this.

 

Fortunately, they, like us, have their free wills and destinies, too.

Whether they want to grow and how to do it are in their hands, not ours. It is not our place to decide and control these for them. 

They also have their timing, speed, and process, which may look very different from ours. Many times, we are on different timelines and trajectories.

 

We are not factory-made beings. We are sovereign beings. We have our individual paths, with relevant and unique resources and challenges to awaken our potential.

 

Our healthiest position in this situation is to embody and offer others love, compassion, and acceptance – because we are all equal and born with free will and destinies; these are our divine right and blueprint.

Our responsibility is to process the fears, guilt, pain, and shame that block us from being in this healthy position. Easier said than done, I know. It can be done!

I did it, and you just need to decide to want it and commit to the work to get you there.

 

As we live free from fears, guilt, pain and shame, making the healthiest decisions feels more natural.

 

If we want to embody freedom, we must respect freedom – in ourselves and others.

 

This is how 2024 has been helping me – staying committed to my spiritual growth and exercising compassion and unattachment to everyone and everything else, trusting that:

  1. When I lose connections with some people, new ones (the type of relationships or the people themselves) will show up in my life.
  2. When I transmute limiting beliefs and replace them with uplifting ones, my life shifts.
  3. When I live authentically, I co-create much better with the Universe that the doors of possibilities I can’t even imagine open for me.
  4. When I love and leave others be from a place of wholeness and love in my heart, I embody the ultimate freedom.

 

I am excited to experience what 2025 unfolds for me!

I am happy to close 2024 in a space of peace and fulfilment. It was not smooth sailing!

There are some highlights.

This year, the Universe granted me the prayer to spend quality time with my dearest friends and family, who are spread out in many countries on three continents. It felt miraculous that I got to do that. Wonderful, loving, deep soul connections were experienced to reflect and celebrate our shared bonds and individual growth. This is so precious to me, more than anything else.

 

I gave birth to two additional self-paced online programs that carry the same transformative energy that was in mine – the Source’s unconditional love.

They are the Unconditional Self-Love Embodiment (USLE) Program and the Authentic Wealth Embodiment (AWE) Program.

These are two of my most important creations so far, and they have helped many people transform their lives.

I completed the 16 weeks of the Youth Mentoring Program with much fulfilment. This is the 3rd year of a pro-bono project I am a part of. I facilitated a transformation process for young refugee warriors (ca. 18-24 years old) to strengthen their emotional resilience through life coaching and trauma healing in virtual groups and one-to-one sessions. I am so grateful I can meet them in person for the first time in 3 years when I visited Indonesia this summer.

 

 

Lastly, my health is good.
Transformation takes a lot from my body. The intensity of 2024 in this regard creates some health worries in some parts of the year. I went through a very exhaustive period during autumn this year. Having had a burnout 16 years ago and learnt a great deal from it, I know how to take care of myself and did so with much dedication.
