Is a profitable life even possible? The Doubt

Over the past few weeks, several of my clients have brought the same question into their sessions with me: “I want a profitable life, but I keep hearing a voice asking: Is it even possible?”

Right now, with so much uncertainty in the world, this worry gets louder, and the frustration and exhaustion rise. It often comes with follow-up commands: “Hold on tighter. Count again. Guard what you have. You are on your own.”

Many of us know this. I know it all too intimately. It became so evident to me when I began following my Soul’s calling in 2015 and changed my work life completely in 2016, into the work I do now. I became self-employed in a field where I had no “reputation.”

You may tell yourself that once you have a little more, you will finally feel safe.
Then more comes, and the worry is still here, asking for more.
Over time, you realise… even when the money helps, this is about something else.

Yes, you are right.
Money, for all its practical purpose, is actually a mirror for something much deeper: TRUST.

This is what I want to explore with you, in a two-part reflection.
Today, let’s look at what feeds this doubt, and whether a profitable life is really possible. In Part 2, I’ll share how the exchange with the Universe works, and the role each of us plays in living a profitable life.

What the worry is really saying

Underneath “Is a profitable life even possible?” is a belief: I can only trust what I can count, and I am powerless without money.
Look at the strange paradox here: we feel we have to do everything on our own, and at the same time, we feel powerless.

Both come from the same deeper belief: we are the only source of what we have. Everything we have, we had to find, earn and protect by ourselves.

This also means that how much we can give to the world depends solely on us: our time, our energy, our hours.
This decides how much we can work, and how much we can work decides how much can come back. The floor and the ceiling of our exchange with life become narrow.

When we believe we are the only source of what we have, money can become the “source” of our “power”. With it, we feel safe. Without it, we feel powerless.

This is why we worry. Right now the worry gets louder, because the world around us is in turbulence too. Even when we have the capacity to give, we don’t know whether anything will come back, because everyone is holding on, out of the same worry.

The core wound: separation from Source

This paradox, carrying everything alone while feeling powerless, stems from a core wound humanity has carried for eons: the wound of separation.

As we become an individuated expression of Source in a human body, we come to feel separate from Source and the Universe, the infinite source of energy that is the source of our provision.

When traumatic experiences are added to the mix, they solidify the programming that says we are always on our own, unheld and unprovided for. For some of us, it goes as far as believing that Source and the Universe do not exist at all, because no one was there to protect or help us.

Many of us feel that Source and the Universe do exist, but that we can only reconnect with them by earning that connection. We try to earn it by collecting good points, through sacrifice, suffering and overachieving.

This wound systematically breaks our trust in two areas.
It breaks our trust in ourselves, as the creators of our own experience. It also breaks our trust in Source and the Universe, so life feels like something to push against instead of something that moves with us.

We inherited all of this from our lineages, who were surviving, and from a world built on survival.

So, is a profitable life possible?

First, know this: this wound is not your fault. The separation it makes you feel is not the truth of what you are.

Yes, a profitable life is possible, when you understand your role in it and live it.

It is possible not because you finally earn it through sacrifice, suffering and overachieving, and not because you collect enough good points.
It is possible because you were never the only source of your provision, and your power was never in money.

The truth is that you are always part of Source and the Universe. Even when you believe you are not, you are. Your Soul is an individuated expression of Source, and Source never runs dry.

Imagine Source and the Universe as a cosmic ocean. You are not standing on the shore. You are part of it.

What uncertainty is showing you

Uncertainty is real, and it is not to be dismissed. What it rattles is your trust in outer sources: jobs, markets, clients, systems.

If those have been your main sources of security and provision, you have placed your power in them, and your fear makes complete sense. When everyone holds on out of that fear, the channels of provision tighten even more.

Now see this clearly.
The truth is: jobs, markets, clients and systems were never the source. They are channels.
When you are one with Source, provision can come to you through many more channels than the ones you know.
Channels can change, but Source and its provision remain the same.
What may change is the form it takes. In one season, provision may come as more money. In another, it may come as more rest, more time, or the space to begin something new.

This doesn’t mean nothing hard will happen.
Channels may still close. However, you are no longer rooted in the channel. You are rooted in Source. So when one channel closes, you are not left without a source. A new channel is already forming, waiting to be recognised and welcomed. Uncovering it is part of your adventure!

You may feel panic at some point, as I certainly did. It is a very human response.
Yet panic shrinks your receiving container to the size of your fear, and you can no longer see the new channel forming right in front of you.

So when panic rises, pause. Breathe. Gently tap the panic away. Ground yourself and come back to your centre. Feel the truth that you are always connected to Source and the Universe. No need to rush. Don’t make any decisions while you are in panic.

This is where we pause for now.
